Fashion Trend of The Moment: The Monochrome - A Strong And Sharp Look To Try This Winter

 

During this summer, a new term appeared in the fashion dictionary: Barbiecore. Borrowed from the name of the cult American doll, it refers to the trend of dressing in pink from head to toe. A tsunami of pink has indeed swept over fashionistas and in the windows of all major brands after Valentino presented its fall-winter 2022-2023 show, entirely in ''Pink PP'' - from clothes to makeup to the catwalk.

Since then, pink is daring in all-over and Hollywood celebrities were the first to adopt this new movement. But in addition to pink, it is globally all the single-color looks that are taking off this season.

HOW TO WEAR THE MONOCHROME LOOK?


If, this summer, the colorful and coordinated outfits such as shirts and shorts

were simple to acheive, this winter all, we cover up a little more and we fall for suits, skirts or pants, but also on wide jeans or mid-length skirts that we match with shirts, sweaters and blazers in the same tones. The rule to follow? Establish slight variations in shades for a legible outfit and thus avoid the risk of weighing down the silhouette, and choose your materials well, which also have their role to play! We mix knitwear with leather, velvet with cotton or even pleated with vinyl to bring volume and contrast in this unison of colors. On the accessories side, we choose pieces that will bring, there too, contrast and facilitate the reading of our look, but be careful not to fall into too much! If our monochrome outfit is based on a bright color, we bet on white or black shoes (sneakers, booties, ballerinas, loafers ...) and a bag in the same color to avoid the slightest stylistic faux pas. The more sophisticated among us can, on the contrary, opt for colorful accessories, provided that we choose complementary shades to those of our clothes: orange with pink, blue with yellow or red, purple with green. 


WHAT COLORS TO WEAR ALL-OVER THIS WINTER?

Although very present in recent months, the fuchsia will continue to surge in our closets this fall-winter 2022-2023 and will still be worn in total look. In addition to this deep pink, the green will also be very present in different shades. To wear it as an all-over, we choose an easy-to-wear shade, like bottle green or fir green. Red will make a stunning comeback and will be worn brightly this fall/winter. For a monochrome red outfit that sends, do not hesitate to play on the contrast of materials (leather, vinyl, tulle). But let's not forget that a monochrome outfit doesn't always mean wearing a bright color. A total look in gray, beige, brown or even black always works, as long as you choose pieces that are in the air of
time!
